“Deep inky garnet with a vibrant ruby edge. The nose is powerful and commanding, offering intense cassis, blackcurrant and mulberry fruit, interwoven with luxurious French oak; cedar, dark chocolate, graphite, and a whisper of vanilla and cigar box. There’s remarkable purity and aromatic complexity. The palate is majestic and structured. Full-bodied and concentrated, it delivers a profound wave of blackcurrant, plum and dark cherry fruit, tightly framed by firm, velvety tannins shaped by extended maturation in the finest French oak. Layers of savoury spice, dried herbs and mineral graphite add serious depth, while vibrant acidity keeps the wine energised and perfectly balanced. The finish is exceptionally long and heroic. A profound, age-worthy Coonawarra Cabernet that already shows greatness and will reward many years in the cellar.”

“Seductively complex and enticing, the wine shows aromas of blackcurrant, tobacco, pressed flowers, warm spices, and cedar. It’s graceful and concentrated on the palate, exhibiting outstanding weight and depth, enhanced by a refined texture and layers of grainy tannins, finishing impressively long and structured. Multi-layered and seamless with a prolonged, gratifying finish. At its best: now to 2040.”

“From an excellent vintage for the Coonawarra region, this is a very small production release from their prestige Nightfall series. Given the lofty name, much can be expected. It delivers. As maroon as a Queenslander on Origin night, with a deep blood red rim, the nose reveals notes of blackberries, chocolate, coffee beans, smoked meats, leather and licorice. This is beautifully structured and the oak integration is exemplary. There is no lack of flavour, but rather a sense of refinement throughout. On the palate we see more of an emergence of dark plums, black fruits and chocolate. There is impressive balance throughout and excellent length. The wine finishes with very fine satiny tannins. Enjoy this over the next ten to fifteen years.”
